Advanced Infusion provides specialized catheters to be used in conjunction with regional anesthesia blocks. These catheters are designed with a luer-lock fitting to connect directly to the catheter segment placed using a nerve stimulation system.
The Advanced Infusion Pain Management System consists of a self-regulating pump and catheter(s) that deliver anesthetics directly to the nerve block region. The anesthetic "deadens" the area of pain transmission in much the same way as in dentistry. The pain management system is used for two to three days postoperatively. After that time, the pain may be managed by oral medication alone.
